So You Want To Be A Model?

After extensive research in 2011 and many focus groups with females aged 18-30, the general  consensus was that the web is awash with companies advertising expensive shoots & management, but all the model gets at the end of the day is a CD with her pictures on it. No promotion. No web exposure & no future work. 84% of those girls interviewed aspired to be models but could neither afford a shoot or had the tools available to promote themselves online. 62% of them where willing to pose semi-naked or nude. 38% of them had a private collection already of provocative poses and thoroughly enjoyed taking them and 11% had serious thoughts about exploring a porn career.

Do you know how many followers Nuts Magazine has on its Twitter Account? - 51,000. (As of Jan 30th) Do you know what percentage of them are women? - 54% Zoo Magazine is similar. You can imagine then when they invite girls to tweet pictures of themselves just how many are doing it. Thousands. How many do they re-tweet? About 10. Furthermore the majority of pictures tweeted by girls are taken with a mobile camera reflecting in a mirror, phone in the picture and more often than not out of focus and blinding flashlight. Also it is the same old shots. Now lets be honest from a male perspective. Yes its great to see and admire a thong covered bottom as it is to see a nice chest but thats all it is mostly over and over again. There is no originality.

Why am I saying this to you? - Because I want you to realise that you have to be different. To stand out from the crowd. You need at least 8-10 pictures. All clear and in focus. In different poses and preferably not a mobile phone and flashlight reflecting in a mirror.    So why exactly do you want to be a model? Fame? Money? Success? A life of glamour?  Along with being a pop star and an actress it is one of the most sought after, dreamed after careers for females. There is a hell of a lot of competition.   So where do you start? How much have you got to spend? Have you thought of the effect it will have on your friends, family, boyfriend etc having you half naked or naked for the world to see?   Why am I asking you and telling you all this? - Because I want to be honest with you and I want and need you to be honest with yourself if you want to be a success. There is no point in promising somebody something that they cannot deliver or by giving them false hope.   In my life I have seen many, aspiring females (including my own sister and an ex girlfriend) pay out hundreds of pounds for an hours shoot. They get to take home a professional CD and credit where credit is due some of the content has been excellent. The promise though of future work very rarely materialises.     Angels of Elixir is a new company I have launched for 2012.
