Students face major hike in fees
This week, the news has been full of the controversial Browne Review – one which has proposed the most radical overhaul of the UK university system for decades. The proposals state that they universities could set their own tuition fees – meaning students would have to pay thousands more for their degrees.
The current cap on university fees of £3,290 would be lifted and universities would be free to charge whatever they would like. This could equal as much as £12,000 or even more!
