London-based Pest Control company looking for a Business Development Manager (BDM) who will be responsible for building up the Canine Scent Detection Services (CSDS) through gaining new customers and accounts. An experienced and enthusiastic BDM sought to secure new contracts on a part-time, commission only basis. The BDM will play a key part in the success of the CSDS which has the only dogs in Britain certified by a Home Office accredited instructor. Generous commission structure offered.

Scope

• Report directly to MD • No other CSDS staff (yet) • Success of CSDS depends on the BDM • CSDS is a new service with positive growth opportunities • Commission calculated on annual contract value, paid monthly, invoice -VAT • Commission structure: >100K=3%, >250K=4%, >500K=5%, >750K=6% • Work from home with flexible hours and work days

Principal Accountabilities

• Following up new business opportunities, set-up meetings and presentations • Planning and preparing high-end presentations • Establishing and maintaining working relationships • Communicating new product developments to prospective clients • Overseeing the development of marketing literature • Administering accounts and writing reports • Providing management with market feedback • Travelling to visit clients and attending corporate entertainment events • Formulate and get agreement to, company marketing plans • Develop and recommend pricing policies and discount structures • Ensure that market plans/objectives met within agreed levels of expenditure • Ensure that all promotion, publicity and advertising activity is in support of company objectives and within agreed expenditure levels and promotes an image which befits the company

Principal Skills and Experience

• Sales and marketing knowledge and experience essential • Good negotiation skills and persuasiveness • Confidence presenting 1-2-1 or to small or large groups of people • Trustworthiness and discretion when handling confidential information • To be self-motivated but able to work as part of a team • Good organizational and time-management skills • A smart appearance and professional manner • Good communications skills, both writing and verbally • UK Driver’s license (beneficial)
