May I take this opportunity to introduce two rare original works of art by the celebrated American artist Alton S. Tobey
They were most likely painted for the golden book Encyclopedia of American history where he was commissioned to paint 350 historic paintings.
The two paintings are of the two main generals in the American civil war generals Robert E Lee Ulysses S Grant
Throughout his life, Robert E. Lee aspired to remarkably high standards of duty, self-denial, self-control and honour, his personal qualities were thought by many of his contemporaries to be worthy of emulation.
Ulysses S. Grant's place in American history would seem to be secure. From very humble beginnings, he rose to save the Union.
By the end of the Civil War, most Americans considered either Robert E. Lee or Ulysses S. Grant to be a hero.
These generals have come to symbolize the two nations that fought the Civil War.
The paintings sizes are 16inches by7.5 inches, Oil on board and both signed by the Alton S. Tobey.
The pictures reside in the UK, so preferred payment must be by PAYPAL.
This is an unique opportunity to purchase paintings from the Two main Generals in the 150th Anniversary of the American Civil War.
