Just moved to London and keen to play a bit of Aussie Rules?

Then the Putney Magpies Aussie Rules Football Club is the place to be in 2010.

We are now currently on the search for new footy talent (of all nationalities British, EU’s, Kiwi's, Saffa's and Aussies) to get on board with the club this season.

Considered the most well liked club in South-West London, the Putney Magpies have three teams competing in the AFL London competition with a team to suit all levels.

At our club understand that people dont come to UK to just play footy and a lot of players cant get to training due to other obligations so we dont inforce a high level of commitment. While being competitive on the field, our club is fairly laid back, well suited to footy in London and very social. Its great way to keep fit, have a bit of a laugh with your mates and grab a beer afterwards. Which is what sport is all about in London....

Training is every Tuesday/Thursday in South Park, Parsons Green (10mins walk from the tube) at 6.30pm from April until August (depending on finals) and games are played every Saturday.

Three good reasons to play footy with Putney:

• We have a very strong equal opportunities policy at our club. It does not matter whether you are a midget, muff diver, Martian, a little too hairy, unusual looking, a bogan who still dresses like Billy Ray Cyrus, a vegetarian tree hugger hairy arm pitted feminist, Arajuna Ranatunga or from Adelaide you will be accepted by the Pies. PS If you are a bearded lady with a foot fetish please contact us first as we will have to meet on that one and get it approved by the competition committee.
• While getting close several times, our club has yet to win a flag so by joining us it will give you a chance to make history. This would be a night to remember especially when you wake up with a lampshade on your head and two farm animals in your bed the next morning. We can’t promise you success but we can promise you fun.
• We are the only club which provides a free Chlamydia test with their membership. Please note though, that if you are itchy in the crutch most of the time you might want to get that checked out by a local GP.
