Noise
There are noisy kids upstairs so I sometimes play my music very loud.
Living room
HiFi, video, dvd, TV, PC, balcony. Library of movies (e.g. Coppola, Lynch, Kieslowski), The Wire, The Sopranos, Six Feet Under, Seinfeld, Curb, Bill Hicks. Hundreds of cassettes and cds from Joy Division to Orbital, Boards Of Canada. Everything by PJ Harvey. Internet access - not broadband but my last flat-mate found that she could get WiFi for free on her laptop.
Location
Brixton is a multi-cultural/ethnic inner-city area. It has most facilities that you would want. We are poor here - so the shops are very cheap! There are many clubs, bars etc. Brixton Underground station is 10 minutes walk away and 4 stops to the city centre. I'm four minutes walk to Loughborough Junction overground railway. There are local 24h shops. Two nice local parks. Elephant & Castle colleges are one 4 minute stop away via ThamesLink. Or the P5 bus is door-to-door. Camberwell College Of Art is 10min walk away.
Me
50. Left-wing. Smoker. Love: DJ Shadow, John Coltrane, cricket, football, baseball, my angelic little cat Catherine, stage-drama like Miller, Ibsen and Strindberg. I like reading books by Walter Mosley, Per & Maj. The Road by Cormac McCarthy is my favourite.
You
I'd prefer a student from overseas. I love to give tips about London life and how to save money. Also I like to broaden my horizons. No rightists, "lads" or religious people please.
If you are interested, please tell me the exact dates that you need a room, the name of your college and its location plus PLEASE tell me something about yourself. If you are overseas right now, I am happy to answer any questions that you have about life in London etc..
